CSV and CSA share the objective

Computer system validation, or C S V, establishes documented confidence that a system is fit for its intended use. Computer software assurance, or C S A, sharpens how teams select and scale evidence. They are not rival programs. The responsibility to understand the use, risk, evidence, and conclusion remains.

Select evidence from risk

C S A starts with the functions that matter to product quality, patient safety, data integrity, or required records. A deterministic calculation may need a detailed script. A configurable workflow may benefit from scripted control checks plus exploratory testing. Relevant supplier evidence can reduce duplication, but only within its demonstrated scope.

Keep the lifecycle connected

A sound approach still connects intended use, requirements, functional risk, testing, deviations, traceability, and the validation conclusion. C S A does not mean fewer records by default. It means each record should answer a real validation question. Move from documenting everything to assuring what matters.
